Queens Park Whispers

As part of an enrichment programme at Waverley Park School, children were given the opportunity to visually express themselves through photography.

The group met once a week for 2 terms to learn tips on how to take a good photo using a digital camera. Workshops covered how to use a digital camera and it's settings, rule of thirds, the 4 elements to taking a good photo - people, line, colour and light. The children used the school environment to practice these skills taught and then they went to Queens Park to see what they could see through the eye of the camera. This is what they found.

At the end of the unit we held an exhibition where families came to view the photos. The children used the app Aurasma to give an explanation about their photo.To take this photo I used macro on my digital camera. I zoomed in to get a better view of the photo and make it look effective. I used the rule of thirds so that when the audience looks at my photo they are focussed on the eyes straight away.
