Our School through a Telescope

Room Kea, Woodlands Full Primary School, Year 1-3. Teacher: Tina Tuliau.

The students have been learning how to operate a camera and take photos by using the basic settings on the camera. The students looked at other student’s photos and discussed how the colour, light and placement of the image helped to make it an effective photo. Students from the senior classroom mentored the students from the junior classroom, teaching them about focus, zooming in and out and angles – mouse, giraffe and possum. 

 I took this photo because it was like looking through the lens of a telescope. I had to zoom in and out until I knew where to take my photo so that it also showed the two tones of orange colour. I had to hold the camera very still and push the green button down slowly so that the photo I took would be nice and clear. The part I like most about this photo is that the chain is in the middle of the circle.
