Junk to Funk

Junior Village, Makarewa School, Year 1-3. Teacher: Bailee Reid.

In the Junior Village we have been learning about the 3 R's (reduce, reuse, recycle). We talked about rubbish in our homes and school and discussed if this rubbish could be used in any other ways. We brought milk bottles, egg cartons, magazines, plastic bags, bottle tops and tins to school. We discovered what we could make with this rubbish, various tools and toys were created by the children. 

The children in this group decided to make a poster to display what our rubbish could be turned into. They took photos of before and after our junk creations on the iPads. Then they used Comic Life to display these pictures. The children took turns drag the photos into the boxes and chose what to say in the the boxes and manipulated the text fonts and colours independently.
