Fire Safety

Josh, George and Ryan, Windsor North School, Year 4-6. Teacher: Luana Egerton.

We were learning to edit on the computer using Active Inspire. Also for topic we were learning about Safety and Hazards. We all drew our own picture and voted for the best. Ryan had chosen fire safety so we chose that and put it into our book. We made a plan. We got the lighter and took a photo of us playing with a lighter.
Next we put the image onto a computer to manipulate. We put the photo onto the computer and cut out the picture of ourselves using the freehand camera tool.
Then we chose a picture of a house burning from the internet. We put the house picture onto activ inspire by copying and pasting it. Next we adjusted the size of the people to match the house picture. Finally we added the text, telling children that this is what might happen if you play with matches. We decided that we had to say 'this is what MIGHT happen, instead of this is what WILL happen if you play with matches.' Then we sent it to the teacher to send to Media Mash.
