Room 9, Winton School, Year 7&8. Teacher: Julie Mynes.
Our main learning intention was to inform others about WW1 and to improve our own understanding of the subject.
We created our project using minecraft because we thought that the audience would enjoy watching something they use to create themselves. It developed our skills and improved our building skills. We learnt how to record our minecraft video using AirServer which projected our iPad screen onto our classroom Macbook Pro screen. We then learnt how to export the recording into iMovies where we used the editing tools to create our project. We also learnt how to use tellagami which acted as a tour guide to deliver the facts around WW1. This year was the 100 anniversary of WW1 and has been an important subject studied in our classroom and because we have enjoyed the subject we wanted to share our understanding with others. We also went to the Capital E performance at the civic theatre which continued to inspire our project. Minecraft is something we use a lot on our devices at home, and we have a minecraft club at school.
We researched many facts about WW1 and started planning how it would look using minecraft. We started to build trenches and memorial. We recorded scenes and facts using airserver, tellagami and voice recorder before bringing digital files together in iMovie.
