Butterfly Life Cycle

Room 9, St Theresa's Invercargill, Year 1-3. Teachers: Mrs. Lines and Mrs. Wilson.

The junior syndicate were looking at the life cycle of the monarch butterfly.
Each class had swan plants as well as reading and researching about the life cycle.
Room 9 were learning the:
• Stages of the cycle
• Words that described the changes
• Parts of the butterfly
The life cycle was also the motivation for visual art work within the class that term.

The filming of the changes was done at home so key stages were not missed.
Some of the filming was done within the create app to get the animation effect.
A mixture of still and video images were taken.
Tellagmai and chatterpix apps were also used to connect with the changes happening with Culry the class butterfly.
Once the life cycle was complete the footage was sorted into a sequence and then edited down .
The facts presented were based on learning conversations from school .
An E book was also made as a class to record the changes.
