Minds Alive, Southland Girls' High School, Year 7&8
We have looked at how some social issues are communicated through an advertising format such as UNCIEF raising awareness through the Commonwealth Games and social issues like encouraging New Zealanders' to vote in elections or support family with issues such as depression . We completed a kahoot quiz on social media statistics to also look at how social media is a way to raise awareness on social issues.
After also looking at lost generation clip on You Tube -http://youtu.be/42E2fAWM6rA we selected raising awareness on how you need to take personal responsibility to make a change not turn away and leave it to others.
We will use this clip on the front of our Minds Alive Ultra net page and to introduce our world cafe later this term.
This was a class entry and the motivation came form the web site " Dear World"-http://www.dearworld.me/
We wanted to show the contrast from turning away to facing the future and being a change agent .
We wanted positive messages linked to hope .We also wanted it to be a feature for our school community in how you can make a difference with your learning so you will see reference to our red shoes and stepping up.
We had students volunteer with quotes they felt were important , collected those images and did some green screening for the start and end shots. We wanted a serious feel and selected the soundtrack based on that.
